Duh bikin sedih aja.

Butuh Nasehat soal Menagih Hutang

October 21st, 2008

Temen-temen,

Fanni lagi bingung nih, butuh nasehat tentang cara menagih hutang.

Dia mau pinjem 2,5juta. Akhirnya aku pinjemin 2 juta.

Bodohnya, aku ngga tanya gimana cara dia entar ngembaliin. Waktu itu niatku tulus, mau nolong, makanya aku sungkan juga mau nanya gimana cara ngembaliinnya.

Setelah setahun lewat, dia ga pernah ngasih kabar lagi. Gimana mau ngembaliin, kontak aku aja ngga pernah.

Tega bener sih dia huhuhu… Ga tanggung jawab banget sih…

Kasih saran dong, teman-teman, aku mesti gimana lagi.

Jadi aku batalin.

Kasih saran dong…

Smile, World!

October 15th, 2008  Tagged

Yesterday I was going to a bookstore on the way to the campus to buy something. It was not a pleasant errand. The store assistants there were always very grumpy, and they got angry if we asked too much, and they were always talking by themselves, and.. you get what I mean.

Okay, so I had to go there, and I had to ask questions. As I had predicted, a female store assistant answered me with such an irritating tone. However, I smiled and said thank you. It was not a fake smile. I was truly thankful because she still answered me, although with unpleasant manner. (I think I was in a great mood yesterday to be able to do that, or perhaps the Lord just put that smile on my face)

And she smiled back! (And the smile looks truthful.)

Perhaps what the grumpy assistants need is just smiles from the customers. And perhaps what the world needs is just more smiles from all of us.

Smile, World! ^_^

Tagged!

October 14th, 2008

I’ve been tagged by desi yoanita. Rules:

1. Each blogger must post these rules
2. Each blogger starts with ten random facts/habits about themselves
3. Bloggers that are tagged need to write on their own blog about their ten things and post these rules. At the end of your blog, you need to choose some people to get tagged and list their names.

4. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’ve been tagged and to read your blog.

Because I’m not creative, I’ll just talk mainly the same topics as desi yoanita =P

1. I’m a chocolate and ice cream addict! (Unlike nita lol) They’re the sweetest things in the whole world! My favorite ice cream flavors are mocha and vanilla, but not chocolate. I don’t know why.

2. I have a chocolate lover cookbook. I had that book since I was in the elementary, and I’ve promised myself to try some of the recipes, but I haven’t done anything until now. Shame on me.

3. ACSI Indonesia (where I work) has changed my life in terms of eating sambel. I couldn’t eat sambel back then, but my friends there have influenced me to like sambel. And yay! Sambel is good! (Sambel = A spicy condiment used especially in Indonesia and Malaysia, made with chili peppers and other ingredients, such as sugar or coconut more chillies, terasi, tomato, salt, onions, garlic) from thefreedictionary.com and me =D

4. I don’t know if Long Distance Relationship will work for me. But I guess it will. But I don’t want to be away from Dhenny. So maybe it won’t work. Maybe it will. Maybe I should try it with Dhenny? Maybe I should send Dhenny away to work somewhere overseas?

5. I cannot sing, and I pretend to be good at playing the piano. Some friends say that I’m good at playing the piano, but I know better. I’m not good. And now I’m thinking of quitting my piano teaching. However, I heart being around friends who show off their musical talents haha (that includes you, Rony!)

6. I like to sit in classes and seminars about teaching, but never practice the teaching myself.

7. I love language! It’s very exciting to see how beautiful language is in literary works, songs, advertisement, and commercial jingles. So far I can only speak English and Indonesian, and a tiny weeny bit of Mandarin. Next languages I want to learn is Hokkian (my grandma’s language – a tribal Chinese language, quite widely used in Indonesia), but I don’t know who can teach me. Anyone?

8. I’m a fan of Roald Dahl! I like his children short stories as much as I love his unexpected short stories for adults. I read his writing first when I was learning English at EF (I was still in Junior High). The first ones I read ware Hitchhiker, and then Royal Jelly. And I love them both. Google more about him! He’s as crazy as his Willy Wonka! (note: If you don’t have a clue who Roald Dahl is, he’s the author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory)

9. I like to sleep.

10. I’m very lazy.

Done! =)

Okay, these friends are tagged: Ellalabo, Merci, Rony

Verbal vs Non Verbal 2

September 14th, 2008

I am one happy girl.

Today I was going out for dinner with my boyfriend, to celebrate my birthday (Sept 11) and our second anniversary (Sept 14).

All of a sudden, my boyfriend went to the grand piano at the restaurant and played Happy Birthday for me.

It was so touching.

If you’ve read my previous post, you’ll know what I’m about to say: He’s being non-verbally romantic again.

What next? I can’t wait. This relationship is becoming so exciting.

Note:
By the way, he learned how to play Happy Birthday on the piano with Bellinda, his friend, for 10 days, and he sticked some stickers on the piano keys (to help him) at the morning with the approval of the restaurant’s manager.

Verbal vs. Non Verbal

September 11th, 2008

I am a verbal kind of person, which means: I can express myself well in words, written or spoken. I admire (and worship) words and language, from novels, short stories, poems, everything literature, to clever use of words in newspapers and advertisements.

Now, I always have some troubles with my boyfriend, because he is not good at expressing himself in words. When we first dated, I never understood his texts (SMS). Full of abbreviation, no coma, no period. Only after a couple of week did I begin to understand them.

Communication is also somewhat confusing for me. In a lot of times, I have to use my not-so-good tacit knowldege and guess what he has in mind. I struggle through this. In certain points, I even thought that perhaps I and my boyfriend don’t speak the same language.

However, yesterday was my birthday. I turned a quarter century. I’m an old lady now and I’m proud of it hehe.. Anyway, I did not celebrate it with anything, because of a technical reason: I had a class from 6-9 pm!

dbldvo.jpg At the middle of the class, we had a break then everyone started to sing happy birthday. Ow, such sweet classmates. And suddenly, I saw a bald cute guy holding a turtle birthday cake came into the class. It was my boyfriend! What was he doing there?! Everything turned to happy moments yesterday, girls were envy at me of having such a romantic boyfriend, etc.  It turned out that my boyfriend had done some “survey” the previous week. He had talked to my professor and my friends to prepare for the little party. And yes, I was touched and happy.

Well, yesterday sure stirred up my perspectives on a lot of things. I was always kind of “demanding” my boyfriend to be more verbal, so that I can understand him. But I guess he’s just not it. He’s just not verbal. He never gave me any cards, he never gave me nice nor clever words. But he does things.

Maybe what I should do is just looking at him as who he is. A non-verbal person. God help me to understand him.

Kenangan

August 23rd, 2008

untuk Dony Agustinus

Apa itu kenangan?
Aku selalu ingin kenangan

Bilang selamat ulang tahun untukmu

Kenangan jadi penyesalan
Aku seharusnya datang ya?

Apa itu kenangan?
Aku tidak tahu, tapi aku sudah lega

Unbelievable

August 10th, 2008

I was in a class of my graduate study program.
We were given a language aptitude test. Not scored.
Most of the students discussed the answers together.
Yes, they were cheating.
Teachers of Christian and Catholic schools.
Unbelievable.
